On this particular Friday night, A & J & I made our way down to San Diego for the most anticipated wedding of the year! Our first night was spent in the city of San Diego, though, before we headed to Pala the next day for the wedding.
We checked out Sessions Public, which is — by the looks of it on Yelp — a pretty new restaurant. We were at first deceived and concerned when we saw the bar next door, but then were really relieved when we entered the actual restaurant.
The food was pretty decent. I got an interesting version of a cobb salad that has sriracha sauce, bacon, and other toppings, along with a giant juicy shrimp (highlight of the salad). The flavors melded together nicely. A got the burger (not pictured cuz it came out too blurry), and J got the cubed ribeye steak smothered in bleu cheese (and too much of it), along with fries (pictured above). They actually describe the ribeye dish to you when you order it, probably as a forewarning about how it’s gonna look exactly when it’s served up.
I’m told by A & J that the prices are actually pretty reasonable, but coming from China, my salad at $11 (pretty small portion, but I was okay with the portion) with tax and tip coming out to $13.75, it felt steep. Nevertheless, the shrimp made me happy.
Try it out if you’re in the area! They have a wide beer selection as well, but I’m not much of a drinker.
